A 15 kHz single-frequency VLF rated to about 2 feet, waterproof, and simple enough that a new user is finding targets within an hour. It suits a genuinely casual buyer, a gift, or someone testing whether the hobby suits them before committing.
Its limit is discrimination in trashy ground and depth on small targets. If you already know you are serious, start one step up instead.
Nokta Simplex Lite — PKR 135,000
The Simplex family has been the default beginner recommendation across the world for years, and the Lite is the accessible version: 15 kHz, four search modes, notch discrimination, vibration, and a collapsible shaft. Fully waterproof, which matters more than beginners expect — wet grass, river edges and rain stop being a consideration.

The mistake that wastes most beginners' money
It is buying a gold machine first. A dedicated gold detector is a specialist instrument: high frequency, minimal discrimination, tuned to respond to tiny signals. Handed to a beginner on ordinary ground it produces constant noise and very little that is worth digging, and the new owner concludes the hobby is not for them.
Unless you are starting in known gold country with someone experienced beside you, learn on a general-purpose machine. The skills — ground balancing, reading tones, pinpointing, digging cleanly — transfer completely, and you will get far more from a gold detector after a season of practice.
Buy these alongside the detector
A pinpointer — The single highest-value accessory. It turns a five-minute hole into a thirty-second one and dramatically reduces damage to targets.
A proper digging tool — A purpose-made trowel or digger. A kitchen implement will bend, and it will scratch what you came for.
Headphones — The faint signals are the deep ones. A speaker in open wind loses them.
A finds pouch — So that recovered trash leaves the site with you. This is what keeps landowners saying yes.
